Nestled near the picturesque towns of Millbrook and Amenia in upstate New York (90 minutes from Manhattan), Silo Ridge Field Club is a 850 acres private club, a Discovery Land Company community that radiates charm and striking natural beauty. Studio Apostoli was responsible for the design of the Shin Rin Spa situated on the club grounds, a project that takes guests on an immersive journey of subtle architecture, translucence, and suspended volumes.
A succession of visual stimuli makes the visitor feel as if he has arrived in a place where natural materials and modern interior-design solutions promote a deep sense of well-being.
The project features a series of apparently scattered structures, enriched by numerous architectural innovations which come together to create a spontaneous and authentic environment, where the unconventional arrangement of small buildings on stilts conveys a sensation of pure wellness.
Shin Rin Spa at Silo Ridge is characterized by a SPA sequence featuring both a Wellness Area and a Fitness Area. The SPA sequence consists of a men’s area and a women’s area with the following facilities: a Hammam, a glass Sauna, an interval sensory shower, a selection of Pools, indoor and outdoor Lounge Areas.
The Fitness Area is divided into four separate buildings: one construction dedicated to the changing rooms, one to the Movement Studio, one to the Gym, and one to the Yoga Pavilion. All exercises can be carried out indoors or outdoors.
The Spa’s wellness offering is accomplished by treatments carried out in nine cabins: four in the Common Area of the Spa and five external cabins. The treatments offered range from services related to sports, oriental treatments, medical spa treatments, traditional treatments, couples treatments… each with different characteristics (plus a special Meditation Cabin).
Shin Rin Spa at Silo Ridge is designed to be a place where visitors can rediscover total relaxation and sensory tranquillity, in which they can feel truly part of the nature which surrounds.
