Studio Apostoli Designs the Interiors of the Sky Pool Villas at Lefay Resort & SPA Lake Garda

Recently opened in Gargnano, this new luxury offering has been developed by the hotel group in collaboration with the architecture and interior design studio founded by Alberto Apostoli.

Located on a hillside with exclusive, breathtaking views, the five villas are immersed in the eleven-hectare park surrounding Lefay Resort & SPA Lake Garda. Seamlessly integrated into the natural landscape, the Sky Pool Villas – designed by Studio Apostoli in partnership with the Lefay Resorts Project Team – enhance the resort’s accommodation offering, particularly for long stays, and reflect the area’s unique terrain.
With green roofs and architecture embedded into the sloping hillsides above the lake, the villas comprise three two-bedroom units, one three-bedroom villa, and a penthouse, starting from 300 square metres. Each is arranged on a single level and features a private garden and infinity pool. The aesthetic is contemporary, defined by expansive glazing, soft neutral tones, and refined stone accents.
The architectural language continues inside, where interiors take inspiration from the local setting and the nautical style of the 1960s. Classic travertine flooring runs throughout the living and sleeping areas, reinforcing a palette of natural, muted hues. Walls are clad in raw silk, alternated with lacquered panelling and – exclusively in the penthouse – sections of Calacatta Gold, creating an elegant interplay of textures. Ceilings are lowered, finished with Canaletto walnut timber inserts and integrated lighting.

Crafted in matching finishes and materials, the bespoke furnishings feature soft, sinuous lines that evoke nautical aesthetics. Aquamarine accents – such as washbasins, fine decorative tapestries, and onyx panels – also serve as a visual echo of the lake’s colours, which are framed like a painting by the expansive windows.

The connection to the landscape is also evident in the spatial layout. Slatted partitions subtly separate areas – such as the sleeping quarters from service spaces – without interrupting flow, and also define elements like the custom-designed bed headboards. Each villa includes a furnished terrace, a heated infinity pool, a kitchen with bar area, and a private spa. The two- and three-bedroom villas offer a sauna and massage area, while the penthouse adds an outdoor whirlpool bath and sensory shower – delivering a private luxury experience, complete with access to the resort’s full range of hospitality and services.

“Returning to Gargnano so soon after completing the major refurbishment we designed was especially rewarding,” says Alberto Apostoli. “Lefay Resort & SPA Lago di Garda is evolving into a layered, multifaceted destination – one that adapts thoughtfully to changing market needs and trends. The challenge we embraced with the Lefay Project Team was to ensure a sense of continuity with the main resort, while establishing the Sky Pool Villas as distinct, independent spaces. Respect for the environment and the expression of the genius loci through design are essential to us in creating lasting, meaningful projects – as we’ve done here.”
