Apostoli accelerates its international expansion and sets out its growth strategy for the next decade

The multidisciplinary group, founded and led by Alberto Apostoli, is making international expansion a strategic priority for the next decade, strengthening its global presence through new offices, partnerships, industry events and international recognition.

Apostoli Group is a multidisciplinary business operating across the wellness sector, with expertise spanning consultancy, design and architecture, management and communications. Having established an international presence as early as 2004, just seven years after its foundation, the group continues to advance the vision of its founder, Alberto Apostoli, expanding its global reach and activities as it approaches its 30th anniversary in 2027.

The group established its first presence outside Europe in Guangzhou, China, in 2006, marking its entry into one of the world’s most significant wellness markets. Since then, the region has undergone substantial growth, reinforcing its importance to the group’s international strategy. More recently, China hosted the 19th edition of the SpaChina Wellness Summit, a three-day event bringing together leading industry professionals and operators for discussion and knowledge exchange, with Alberto Apostoli among its keynote speakers.

“China is a market I have come to understand in ever greater depth, having followed its evolution and emerging trends at close quarters through our established presence in the region. Here, wellness is not simply a concept but an ideal deeply embedded in the culture. My contribution to the Summit explored the value of spas and wellness centres beyond their therapeutic benefits, highlighting their broader role in renewing the individual and, consequently, society as a whole.

“My next opportunity for dialogue will be in Australia, where I will engage with fellow industry professionals on the importance of beauty, longevity, thermal wellness, spas and medical spas, not only as contributors to a healthier future for society, but also as established market trends shaping the development of wellness projects across the continent,” comments Alberto Apostoli.

Next on the calendar is the Wellness Summit Asia Pacific in Margaret River, Western Australia, a four-day gathering bringing together professionals from across Australasia’s wellness and wellness tourism sectors. Alberto Apostoli will deliver a keynote address exploring new experiences and future directions in wellbeing. His project, Tavan Jargal Wellness Resort, is also nominated for two SPA & Wellness Awards: Wellness Design & Built Environment and Most Sustainable Eco Property, in the Wellness and Travel categories, respectively. Located in Mongolia, the eco-retreat spans more than 130,000 m².

“The Australian market has significant and growing potential for investment and development across the wellness and hospitality sectors. We have had a dedicated representative in the region for several years and are currently working on agreements with Melbourne-based businesses to strengthen our local presence through representative offices established in partnership with local firms.

“The Asia-Pacific region is particularly dynamic and receptive to themes such as self-awareness, slow living, mindfulness, holistic wellbeing and connection with nature. During my visit, I will also meet representatives from the real estate and wellness sectors to explore the market’s potential and identify opportunities for collaboration,” concludes architect Alberto Apostoli.

The group’s final engagement of 2026 will be the National Forum on Thermal Tourism in Guelma, Algeria. Held over two days in late October, the Forum is dedicated to promoting thermal tourism and modernising therapeutic facilities. “Algeria has considerable potential for growth in this sector, thanks to the richness and diversity of its natural resources and the opportunities its coastline offers for the development of thalassotherapy centres. Apostoli Group will be represented at the Forum by Gianluca Rossin, Associate Partner, who will explore how existing thermal facilities can be integrated into the country’s broader health, wellness and tourism offering.

“The Italian model presented will serve as a benchmark for developing integrated tourism offerings capable of delivering tangible results, enhancing the appeal of specific destinations and attracting both domestic and international investment.”

Looking ahead to 2027, Apostoli Group will participate in the International Design Expo in Chicago, USA, a two-day event bringing together architects, interior designers, developers, companies, real estate professionals and distributors from around the world. The group will present Wellness Alive, a travelling installation exploring wellbeing as a vital force connecting body, mind and spirit, expressed through the interplay between contemporary technology and elements of nature.

“Before arriving in Chicago, Wellness Alive will make its debut in Bologna at XLeisure and Cosmoprof Worldwide. Developing a concept capable of engaging audiences across three trade fairs with very different focuses and target markets was a deliberate strategic choice. Expanding from the domestic to the international market requires an understanding not only of our rapidly evolving sector, but also of the distinctive characteristics of each region, including its traditions, cultural heritage and mindset.

“Apostoli Group was founded in Italy, but from the outset I have sought to establish a presence in international markets founded on mutual exchange. We share our expertise and vision abroad while drawing on international trends and inspiration to continually enrich our creative approach,” comments Alberto Apostoli.

“We are also working towards establishing a presence in New York, securing a direct foothold in North America and further developing our business in the United States. Our ambition is to extend the international reach of the group’s expertise, support existing clients as they enter new markets and introduce new clients to an innovative approach to wellness. Over the next ten years, our goal is to triple turnover, with one-third generated in Italy and the remaining two-thirds in international markets.”

Alongside its international expansion, the group has received several notable accolades in recent months. Sky Pool Villas, designed for Lefay Resort & SPA Lago di Garda, won in the Development – Branded Residence category at the International Property Awards, established in London in 1993. Meanwhile, Lefay Resort & SPA Dolomiti, designed entirely by the Apostoli team, was named World’s Best Resort Spa 2026 at the World Spa Awards, an internationally recognised programme that held its 12th edition this year. Most recently, at the Destination Deluxe Awards 2026 in Bangkok, Lefay Resort & SPA Lago di Garda secured second place in the Hotel of the Year category.
